The Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) curriculum is the educational foundation of the CIPS Network, distinguishes CIPS designees as individuals who have both hands-on experience in international real
estate transactions as well as successful completion of a five-day program of study focusing on critical aspects of transnational transactions, including currency and exchange rate issues and cross-cultural relationships,
regional market conditions, investment performance, tax issues, and more.
The CIPS Network of 2,300 real estate professionals dealin all types of real estate, but with one common element: they are focused specifically on the “international” market. Whether traveling abroad to put deals together, assisting foreign investors, helping local buyers invest abroad, or serving an immigrant niche in local markets, CIPS members are consumers’ best resource to ensure they are dealing with a professional who is skilled in the unique aspects of international real estate.
Six courses comprise the education program of the CIPS Network, of which five are required for the CIPS designation: the prerequisite Global Real Estate: Local Markets, formerly “International Real Estate for Local Markets”, three of the four one-day courses (Americas, Asia, Europe or Middle East) and the Global Real Estate: Business Tools formerly “Investment & Financial Analysis, are required for CIPS membership. David has represented multiple international corporations on every continent. He has lived, bought, sold property and operated his own company internationally. He is able to communicate his experiences effectively and welcomes the opportunity to share his knowledge with other professionals.
He began working with real estate professionals in the early 1990’s extending technology to individuals and corporations in Florida. He has taught and lectured across the world on topics ranging from marketing and strategy development to international finance and business planning. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia, the Amos Tuck Senior Executive program at
Dartmouth, IBM’s Senior International Financial Executive School in Brussels, and the Instructor Training Institute.
